Waveform
Every track is shown as a waveform. Click anywhere on it to seek. SPACE plays and
pauses, ← / → seek by 10 seconds, ↑ / ↓ move to the previous or next
track in the visible list. ENTER (or a double-click) selects or deselects the
current track.
End of track
What happens when a track ends is set by the END-OF-TRACK transport button or the
R key:
- NEXT plays the next visible track.
- LOOP restarts the same track from 0:00.
The choice is remembered in the session.
BPM and key
BPM is computed with a Fourier tempogram and beat-profile folding, which is robust to breakbeats. Key is shown in Camelot notation (8A, 5B and so on). Both are computed for every track in the list.
SORT / FILTER / GROUP panels
Sort, filter and group controls live in a slide-up panel at the bottom of the
screen. Open them with the SORT / FILTER / GROUP buttons or the S / F / G
keys. Every panel is fully keyboard-drivable: H / J / K / L move the
cursor, Enter toggles, H / L adjust ranges, Esc closes.
- SORT: by name, BPM, key, intensity, artist, genre or year. Picking the
active key again reverses the direction (
^/vindicator).[/]cycle the sort key without opening the panel. - FILTER: a BPM range (with an optional half-time x2 / x0.5 match), an
intensity range, a Camelot-code grid, a COMPATIBLE toggle, and FIND (name
search).
/focuses the FIND field from anywhere; ESC clears it. - GROUP: the primary order. SORT then orders within each group.
↑ / ↓ walk the visible (filtered and sorted) list. The selection and the
export order are independent of sorting and filtering.
Harmonic highlight and COMPATIBLE
Each track's Camelot cell is coloured relative to the current track on the Camelot wheel: bright means a perfect match, dim means a clash. The COMPATIBLE toggle in the FILTER panel keeps only tracks compatible with the current one; holding Shift on the toggle also includes "loose" moves.
Artist, genre and year
Artist, genre and year are read from local tags. Anything still missing is filled automatically in the background from MusicBrainz. There is no button to press; lookups are paced to the MusicBrainz limit of one request per second. This is the only network access the app makes, and it is optional: the app works offline.
